Industrialising Offshore Piling: Introducing the OPUS Concept

In the fast-evolving world of offshore energy, the demand for repetitive pile installation and removal is skyrocketing. Yet, the traditional methods used to execute these projects remain heavily "crane-centric" and often over-specified for the task at hand. That is why we are proud to introduce OPUS (Offshore Pile Upending System)

From floating wind moorings and offshore aquaculture to the decommissioning of first-generation wind farms, the industry is increasingly focused on high-volume campaigns involving pin piles and anchor piles. Yet, the traditional methods used to execute these projects remain heavily “crane-centric” and often over-specified for the task at hand.

That is why we are proud to introduce OPUS (Offshore Pile Upending System), a revolutionary, patented concept designed to industrialise offshore pile handling.

Offshore Pile Upending System

A New Playbook for Offshore Efficiency

OPUS reimagines the offshore piling cycle from the ground up. Instead of treating transport, storage, upending, alignment, installation, and removal as separate, fragmented operations with multiple interfaces, OPUS integrates them into a single, controlled, and predictable workflow.

By transforming a stop-start offshore operation into a repeatable execution sequence, OPUS offers three fundamental advantages:

  • Optimised Vessel Economics: OPUS enables execution from more widely available vessel classes (such as PSVs, Deck Carriers, or AHTSs), significantly reducing exposure to the premium day rates of Heavy Lift Vessels (HLVs) or Jack-Up Barges (JUBs).
  • Enhanced Schedule Reliability: By turning repetitive pile handling into a predictable cycle, OPUS helps eliminate the delays between core technical steps, making projects easier to plan, price, and scale.
  • Superior Operational Safety: Safety is designed into the system. OPUS reduces the need for high-risk, high-dynamic lifts and limits the number of manual interfaces in the core sequence, creating a safer environment for offshore crews.

The role of a Launching Customer

OPUS is more than just a piece of hardware; it is an integrated methodology that combines our proven vibro-driven installation expertise with an industrialised approach to offshore logistics.

Currently, OPUS exists as a validated, patented concept. As we move toward the pilot phase, we are actively seeking a launching customer to partner with us in defining this new execution standard. By becoming an early adopter, you gain the opportunity to shape a methodology designed to unlock predictable offshore performance and lower vessel dependency.
